SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Kane/Miller Book Publishers is an independent publisher specializing in award-winning children's books from around the world. Our books bring the children of the world closer to each other, sharing stories and ideas, while exploring cultural differences and similarities.
While the bulk of our list is purchased directly from foreign publishers, we are currently seeking fiction and nonfiction evocative of another country or culture. (We particularly welcome submissions by authors living outside of the United States.)

Work submitted for consideration should be sent by mail only - we do not accept submission via email or fax.
Please send either the published book (with a summary and outline in English, if that is not the language of origin) or a synopsis of the work and two sample chapters.
All submissions are sent at the sender's risk; we can accept no responsibility for lost or damaged manuscripts so please ensure you keep a personal copy of your work. (We regret that because of new postal regulations, we cannot return any materials.)
Illustrators may send color copies, tear sheets, or other non-returnable illustration samples. If you have a web site with additional samples of your work, please include the web address. Please do not send original artwork, or samples on CD or by email.
Please do allow us up to 60 days for a response. A self-addressed envelope or postcard must be included; otherwise you will not receive a reply. (We are unable to enter into correspondence concerning individual submissions.)
If we wish to follow up, we will notify you by mail.
Please note that it is extremely rare for an unsolicited manuscript to be published.
